This was a complex job from a technical as well as logistic point of view. It included moving, as seamlessly as possible, the technical equipment, lab furniture, counter tops, refrigeration equipment, scientific equipment and consumables to a new location, as well as moving administrative staff equipment from one building to another.
Some of the move had to be done at night. The most challenging part was moving 6 chambers (some weighing close to 3,000 lb) to the new building. Quantum worked with the manufacturer to understand the leaning tolerance of the refrigeration equipment so that it could be put back in service immediately. Quantum’s expertise in this type of operation was put to good use, and the crew defined a rigging process to move the equipment safely to the new location. The move had to be done at night, with no client personnel present. Masonite protection was installed on the flooring surface.
Upon completion of the move, Quantum returned to the vacated building and did a complete cleanout to landlord specs, preparing the space for the next tenant. The job was completed efficiently and passed inspection by the landlord with no call back.
