Strip it back — but not too far
Gorman Company purchased a 94,000 SF office building in North Wales, Pennsylvania with the intention of gutting it and converting it into a self-storage center. The job called for a selective interior demolition: remove most of the partition walls, fixtures and ceilings, but leave certain structures in place to support the new build-out.
That balance — take out everything the conversion didn’t need, preserve everything it did — is exactly what selective demolition is for.
A clean, selective strip-out
Quantum started by safing-off the electrical, then worked methodically through the building — removing and disposing of the bathrooms with cuts and caps, disconnecting and removing all rooftop units with freon recovery, and pulling the ceiling tiles, light fixtures, flex duct and grid.
From there the crew took out the walls, bulkheads, soffits and drywall, and removed all of the flooring — carpet and tile — leaving the interior ready for Gorman’s storage build-out.
A 94,000 square foot office building, stripped of everything the conversion didn’t need — with the structure the new build-out relied on left intact.

All rooftop units were disconnected and removed with freon recovered rather than vented.
Now open as Vault Storage
The converted building now operates as Vault Storage, with units available for rent.
