Fenway Properties purchased the old Bank One buildings in Phoenix AZ. In order to prepare them for renovation, Quantum Technology was brought in to decommission the data center and completely clear out the facility.
Project Details:
25,000 SF Raised Floor. The crew brought the room back to bare walls and floor. Understructure is typically piled up, then loaded in gaylords and sold with the flooring. CRAC units had the Freon evacuated. UPS Systems were electrically disconnected along with Transformers and switchgear. Quantum removed (4) Cummins Generators, 1979, these were sold despite their age. To get the generators out of the building, Quantum had to knock down the outside brick wall and reconstruct the masonry. Fire Suppression tanks were deactivated, palletized and shipped to the recycling facility. Wet Cell Batteries were disconnected with special lifts, Arc Flash suits and insulated tools. The fuel was drained from the diesel fuel tanks and resold as Diesel #2 for construction and farm equipment. All cabling, piping conduit was pulled and recycled. A lot of equipment such as compressors were sold to local businesses.
