TESTIMONIALS

What Our Clients Say About Us

Just wanted to follow up to express my sincere gratitude for how well your team performed the removal process of our existing gear.

As you can understand, our senses were on a heightened level with respect to performing this type of removal work in an active electrical room that provides essential services throughout the hospital. Any little slip could have potentially created a major impact to our daily operations.

Your team showed up with a plan that paid close attention to the active environment that they were going to execute their work scope in. Precautions were implemented so that existing energized equipment would not be impacted, and sprinkler piping (active wet system) paths were identified so that the removal scope would not trigger an accidental activation. Plus, they kept the process clean. Nice work and thank you.

Quantum Technology was a pleasure to work with from the beginning of the project to the very end.

All of their staff was very professional and they left our property in better condition than I assumed would happen with such a large project.

I would highly recommend QT to work on any scale project with technology requirements.

Working with the guys at Quantum has been a great asset to our growth.

They provide consistent information on product that becomes available, take the guesswork out of buying used equipment, and follow through the sale until delivery.

Customer service seems to be their driver.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Frequently asked questions

What is the step-by-step process for safely decommissioning a data center without disrupting ongoing business units?+
It starts with an on-site walkthrough and full asset inventory, followed by a proposal comparing resale value against removal costs. After you review and sign off, our certified crews disconnect and remove the infrastructure in a carefully sequenced, fully documented way, isolating circuits and coordinating around live systems so the business units you’re keeping stay online. Equipment is then transported to our warehouse for resale, and we finish with a complete site cleanup.
How much does it cost per square foot to completely dismantle a data center?+
There’s no honest flat per-square-foot rate. Cost is driven by what’s in the room, not the floor area. The real drivers are the density and weight of equipment, rigging and access constraints, coordination with live systems, permits and recycling. The upside is that the resale value of your generators, UPS, cooling and racks is subtracted from that cost, so the net number is often far lower than a per-square-foot estimate would suggest, and sometimes negative.
Can a decommissioning company offset their labor costs by keeping the resale value of our salvaged infrastructure?+
Yes, that’s exactly how Quantum works. We buy your equipment and resell it on our own marketplace, capturing full secondary-market value rather than scrapping it. That value is applied directly against the labor and logistics of the teardown. When it exceeds the cost of the job, you receive a check instead of an invoice.
I have a data center I need to dismantle. Is there anyone that specializes in doing this?+
Yes. Quantum Technology specializes in complete data center decommissioning nationwide, from pre-removal planning to demolition. We handle the entire physical structure: HVAC and chillers, fire suppression, panel boards, raised flooring, generators, UPS systems, cooling towers, pumps, cabling and server racks, with certified, fully insured crews.
Is any equipment in my data center worth money?+
Almost certainly. Generators, UPS systems, switchgear, CRAC/CRAH units, chillers, cooling towers, transfer switches, PDUs, server racks and cabling all have strong resale value, plus recoverable copper and scrap metal. During the walkthrough we inventory everything and show you what it’s worth. That value comes straight off your project cost.
