Quantum Technology has an OSHA certified safety expert on staff at all times and is committed to best practices to protect our most valuable assets: our employees.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) was established as an agency under the Department of Labor by President Nixon in 1970. Its mission is to “assure safe and healthful working conditions for working men and women by setting and enforcing standards and by providing training, outreach, education and assistance.”

OSHA has developed several training and compliance assistance programs that provide a variety of training to workers with safety responsibility. Training emphasizes hazard identification, avoidance, control and prevention, and OSHA standards. This includes section on Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as well as frequent staples of jobsite deconstruction work such as lockout / tagout procedures, fall protection, and machine guarding.

OSHA certification mandates that an employer keep certain records regarding the health and wellbeing of their staff and OSHA training drills participants in every aspect of demolition and construction work. The training, which generally takes about 30 hours, goes over topics as diverse as lead and asbestos remediation in the workplace to crane and forklift operation. The standards for workplace safety have been carefully chosen to reflect the best route to protecting life and limb. Things as minute as the distance between beams on a scaffold are extraordinarily important to make sure that no workplace accidents occur.

In addition to putting all OSHA recommendations into practice, Quantum also holds regular safety meetings where our safety expert will tour demolition sites for potential threats, as well as reviewing over essential safety materials with labor employees.

We believe that safety should be a company’s number one priority, not just because the health of our employees are essential to the health of the company, but because of a strong commitment to a safe workplace where we look out for and take care of our people. OSHA is just one of the many ways that we are able to draw on the expertise and experience of our nation’s institutes in order to make sure that we are doing everything we can.
